Automatic (automatic transmission)
When the selector lever of the Transporter T4 is in a position other than "P" and "N", when the ignition is turned on, the starter circuit is blocked (interrupted).
Thanks to this, there is no situation when, due to imprudence, the car starts uncontrollably (“jump”).
Selector
lever positions On the instrument panel there is a display that shows the position in which the selector lever is located. Depending on the vehicle version, the display may also be located on the front panel. R - from English.
"Parking" - parking Driving wheels are mechanically blocked. The selector lever is recommended to be switched to this mode only when the car is completely stopped. To move the lever from the "P" mode with the ignition on, you must press the lock button on the selector lever handle, and also press the brake pedal. R- from English. "Reverse" - reverse gear The reverse mode can only be switched on when the car is completely stopped and the engine is idling. Before moving to the “I” position from the “P” or “N” positions, it is necessary to depress the brake pedal and press the lock button in the selector handle. In the “R” position of the Transmorter T4, when the ignition is on, the reversing lights are turned on.
N - from English.
"Neutral" - neutral position D - from the English.
"Drive" - moving forward Four forward gears switch from lower to higher and back automatically depending on the engine load and speed. For certain driving modes, it is recommended to use one of the following modes.
3 - mode for road sections with a large number of descents / ascents
1st, 2nd or 3rd gears are automatically engaged depending on the engine load and speed, 4th gear is not engaged.
In this mode, the effect of engine braking is more widely used while cutting off fuel supply. This mode of the T4 automatic is recommended when, when driving, there is a frequent shift from 3rd to 4th gear and vice versa.
2 - mode for passing mountainous sections of the road
This mode is recommended when driving on long ascents and descents.
1st or 2nd gears are automatically engaged depending on engine load and road speed, 3rd and 4th gears are not engaged to avoid unnecessary upshifts.
This also increases the efficiency of engine braking. 1 - T4 automatic mode for passing sections of the road with large slopes.
The choice of this position is recommended when driving on steep ascents and descents.
The car moves only in 1st gear, 2nd, 3rd and 4th are not included.
This maximizes the effect of engine braking. Note.
It is not possible to use the heat mat when driving in mode "1". Device for forced downshifting of the T4 automatic transmission (“Kick-down” mode)
This mode provides the maximum acceleration of the car, which is necessary, for example, when overtaking. As soon as the effort on the “gas” pedal exceeds a certain value, depending on the crankshaft speed and speed, it switches to one of the lower gears. Switching back to the next, higher gear occurs only when the maximum permissible crankshaft speed is reached.
