Additional coolant pump
An additional electric pump to increase the circulation of the coolant is used in the cooling circuit of the VR6 engine of the Transporter T4 , as well as on some modifications of other engines (in particular, diesel models with a turbocharger). The need for such a pump arose due to the design features of the cylinder block - the density of the cylinders. The pump is connected by hoses to various places in the cooling system (see Fig. 241). On the 2.0 engine, the pump is located under the left radiator fan. The pump works and provides a real follow-up operation of the radiator fan, as a result of which the hot engine is cooled for some time after the ignition is turned off and local overheating spots are excluded.
