Measuring the inner diameter of cylinders VR6
It is necessary to bore all Volkswagen Transporter T4 , unless one of them corresponds to the specified values.
A deviation from the specified size of 0.08 mm is permissible. For the VR6 engine, there are two overhaul piston sizes. Checking pistons and connecting rods

All dimensions and parameters, except for those given below, are the same for engines 2.0 and 2.8. The gap between the ring and the groove for both compression rings is 0.02-0.07 mm, for the oil scraper ring this value is 0.02-0.06 mm.
The clearance of the lock of the compression rings is 0.20-0.40 mm, and the clearance of the oil scraper ring is 0.25-0.50 mm.
The maximum allowable for all rings is 1.0 mm. The connecting rod bearing bolts in this engine are screwed directly into the connecting rods, i.e. nuts are not used. Bolts that deform when tightened are used, which must be changed at each disassembly.
