Removal and installation of the forward panel of a body
Like most of the latest VW models (VW Passat, Skoda Octavia), the front body panel
the T4 cars Removal
♦ Remove the engine crankcase protection.
♦ Remove the front bumper.
On models of release since September, 1994 in addition remove a radiator lattice. ♦ Tilt the radiator together with the hood latch cross member forward.
Please note that on models manufactured from September 1994, there is one bolt each on the left and right side of the lock ♦ Remove the bolts (1, see Fig. 466) located next to the radiator grille on both sides of the body.

♦ Remove the shield (2) with bushings (3) from the pins (4).
♦ Remove the headlights and turn signal lamps from both sides of the vehicle.
♦ During further work, it is necessary to disconnect the radiator from the front beam, so as not to damage it, place trestle bars under it or tie it to the body.
♦ Knock out the pins from the clips on the left and right (see the arrow in Fig. 467) and disconnect the clips from the radiator brackets.

♦ Lift the heatsink up a little.
The hoses do not need to be disconnected. ♦ Remove the screws (3 and 4, see fig. 468) securing the front panel (1) and headlamp bracket (2).

♦ Disconnect the electrical wires from the front panel.
Installation is carried out in reverse order. Bolts (3) and (4) tighten to 8 Nm.
