Thermostat Replacement - 2.0 and 1.9L Engines
The position of the thermostat is shown in fig. T4 engine cooling pump housing under the cover and is sealed with a rubber O-ring.
In order to remove the thermostat, it is necessary to disconnect the rubber hose from the fitting (1), then unscrew the bolts securing the fitting to the pump housing. After that, you need to remove the ring from under the fitting and check its condition. The thermostat cannot be repaired and must be replaced if damaged.
