Rear door adjustment
Transporter T4 door in the opening must be carried out if the gaps around the door perimeter are noticeably different or when the door is replaced.
♦ To adjust, loosen the door hinge bolts.
♦ To gain access to the hinge fixing screws, remove the upholstery at the edge of the headlining opening and the trim from the upper door frame.
♦ Adjust the position of the door by moving it accordingly.
Movement is possible within the holes of the loop increased in diameter. ♦ The lower half of the door is fixed in the opening with special wedge-shaped guides (see 8, fig. 477).
When changing the position of the hinges, it is also necessary to adjust the guides. To do this, slightly loosen the guide mounting bolts (6 mm Allen key) so that the guide moves with little effort. Carefully close the door and align it with the opening. Then the door must be opened and the guide bolts must be tightened to 20 Nm. ♦ Replace the door rubber seal and trim panel.
