Rear door - removal and installation
♦ Undo the screws (3, see fig. 477) with a socket wrench and remove the interior decoration panel of the Transporter T4 . When assembling, the bolts do not need to be screwed in; they just need to be pressed into place.

♦ Disconnect and remove from the door the wires for the heated rear window, license plate light and, if equipped, the wiper motor and electric lock.
Two people are recommended to remove the rear door.
♦ While supporting the door, remove the shock absorber from the door.
The shock absorber mounting is shown in fig. 476. There are no threaded fasteners. When replacing, disconnect both shock absorber supports, when dismantling the door - only one. This is due to the fact that the supports are plastic and are easily damaged during dismantling. ♦ Remove the hinge fixing screws (cross slot) and remove the door.
Installation is carried out in the reverse order.
