Windshield wipers and washers
Windshield wipers / washers Volkswagen Transporter T4 only work when the ignition is on.
In case of frost, before switching on the windshield wipers for the first time, it is recommended to check if the brushes have frozen to the glass.
In the presence of heated washer jets, automatic activation and subsequent regulation of the intensity of heating occurs from the moment the ignition is turned on, depending on the air temperature.

Windshield wipers off - steering column switch in the “O” position (see Fig. 30).

Brief operation of the wiper - raise the switch without bringing it to position 1.
Slow movement of the brushes - the switch is in position 1.
Fast movement of the brushes - the switch is in position 2.
Movement of the brushes in the "pause" mode - the switch is in position 3. Windshield wipers operate 1 time in 6 sec.
When windshield wipers operate with continuously adjustable pause duration, the pause value can be set in the range from 1.5 to 22 seconds as follows:
♦ Switch on the wiper operation mode (3) and let the wipers make one pass;
♦ Switch off the wipers (3) and switch them on again after the required time delay.
The time interval can be changed an unlimited number of times.
After turning off the ignition, the initial interval of the operating mode is automatically set to 6 seconds. Simultaneous cleaning and washing
♦ Move the stalk to the steering wheel (4), regardless of the mode (0-3) - wipers and washer work together.
♦ Release the stalk - the windshield washer stops, the wipers work for about 4 seconds.
Headlight washers T4
With high beam or low beam on, each time the windshield washer (4) is switched on, the headlight lenses are also washed.
At regular intervals, for example when refueling the car, it is recommended to clean the headlights from dried dirt. Rear window/double door windows
♦ Press the button (A) - the windshield wiper operates every 6 seconds ("pause" mode).

♦ Move the stalk away from the steering wheel (5) and hold in this position - the wiper/washer operates, regardless of the mode (0-3), as long as the switch is held in this position.
♦ Release the steering column switch - the T4 Transporter's washer stops, the wiper still works for about 4 seconds.
