Caliper - repair
Before you start repair work, be sure to read the following notes:
After removing the T4 , replace the gaskets and o-rings.
They are included in the repair kit. Do not install pistons with worn, scratched, or rusted surfaces.
Always replace the caliper body Conveyor T4 as an assembly. Use only the recommended grade (type) of brake fluid.
It is not recommended to use brake fluid that has been in an open container for a long time. Lubricate pistons, o-rings and casings with either clean brake fluid or special brake grease.
♦ On vehicles with 14" wheels, unscrew the union nut of the brake pipe from the caliper and disconnect the caliper body from the casing. It is fixed at the top with the same bolt as at the bottom. On vehicles with 15" wheels, the
piston can only be reached after removing the caliper body.
Naturally, it is necessary to remove the brake pads in advance. ♦ Loosen the screw (14, Fig. 429) and remove the brake disc.
♦ At the bracket (19), loosen the tube nut, remove the clip (17) and disconnect the brake hose from the tube.
♦ Unscrew the union nut of the tube from the caliper body and remove the tube.
♦ Loosen locknuts (14) and remove bolts (13) (both bolts very tight).
♦ Remove the caliper body from the guide rods (10).
The brake caliper is repaired in the same way as the brake caliper for 14" wheels. Fig. 434 shows the construction of the T4 caliper housing for 14" wheels. The same parts are installed in the caliper housing of 15" wheels with the only difference being that they have a different caliper design.

♦ Fix the housing in a vice and remove the boot from the cylinder and piston using a screwdriver.
♦ Insert a plank into the caliper body in front of the piston as shown in fig. 435 and push the piston out of the cylinder with compressed air.

♦ Carefully remove the O-ring from the groove in the cylinder as shown in Figure 435.

♦ Wash all parts thoroughly in clean brake fluid. If the case is in good condition, you can use it in the future by installing the parts contained in the repair kit during assembly (see Fig. 437, 438).

♦ Shown in fig. 438 Using the tool, slowly install the piston into the cylinder.
