Fuel filter
To clean the fuel after the fuel pump, a fuel filter is used Volkswagen Transporter T4located in the system on the high pressure fuel line (see Fig. 259). Sometimes the cause of rough engine operation is a reduction in filter capacity due to contamination of the filter with solid particles.

The Volkswagen Transporter fuel filter consists of a metal cylindrical housing in which a filter element made of porous paper and a woven sieve is placed, which serves to trap possible pieces of paper.
The filter elements are threaded from the inside to the metal walls.
The inlet fuel line is connected to one side of the filter, and the outlet line is connected to the other side. When installing the filter, pay attention to the arrow located on the housing and indicating the direction of fuel flow.
The need to replace the filter of the Conveyor depends on the degree of contamination. Depending on the size, the filter must be replaced after a run of 30,000-80,000 km.
