Adjusting the height of the front of the car
VW T4 cars are manufactured in different versions and in many cases have different heights (clearance) of the front end. To determine the required amount of clearance from table 8, you need to know which of the four groups this car belongs to. The vehicle group is shown on the sticker shown in fig. 381. It is placed on the door pillar at the same level as the fuse and relay box. The absence of a sticker indicates that the car belongs to the first group. Starting to adjust the height of the front of the car and finding out which group this car belongs to, find the required height value in the adjustment data table. Measurements are taken on an unladen vehicle on level ground.

Rice. 382 Vehicle height measurement. Dimension "a" is measured between the head of the bolt that secures the shock absorber bracket and the axis of the bolt that secures the shock absorber itself from below
Front height measurement is shown in fig. 382. This is the distance between the bolt head of the shock absorber upper bracket and the axle of the shock absorber lower bolt. The height should be measured on both sides of the vehicle. Adjustment is carried out by turning the nut thread. The required height can only be obtained by selection. After each adjustment, it is necessary to shake the front of the car strongly in order for the torsion bar to take a new position.
