Adjustment of an advancing angle of a rotary fist
the Transporter T4 steering knuckle are not the same for all groups of vehicles.
The need to check the advancing angle of the steering knuckle arises when the car is “steered” to one side or when the front wheels are beating while driving straight. The steering knuckle advance angle must be measured with an optical instrument. To adjust the advance, an eccentric bolt and an eccentric nut are used, placed in the rear bearing of the lower transverse arm. The eccentric bolt must be replaced every time the bolt nut is loosened. ♦ Install load balancers in the front suspension.
♦ Unscrew the nut (1, fig. 399) and accurately mark the position of the eccentric washer in the suspension beam hole.

♦ On the other side of the transverse arm ear, mark the position of the head of the eccentric bolt (2) in relation to the suspension cross member and knock out the bolt.
♦ Transfer the position designation from the head of the old bolt to the head of the new bolt and drive in the new bolt.
♦ Reset the eccentric washer and install it in its original position.
Rearranging the bolt (2) adjust the steering knuckle advance angle. ♦ Lower the vehicle onto the wheels and turn the washer an additional quarter turn.
