Replacing the front suspension beam
The front suspension beam of the Transporter T4 must be removed as a set.
Below will be given only those works that are necessary to remove the beam. Details are given under the respective descriptions. ♦ Eliminate the initial tension of the torsion bars, disconnect the steering gear from the steering shaft, disconnect the hoses, brake lines from the hydraulic booster cylinder of the steering system, and drive axle shafts from the gearbox, unscrew the bolts of rubber-metal cushions, unscrew the bolts of the suspension beam and lower the beam down.
♦ Proceed in reverse order during installation.
Bolts of rubber-metal pillows tighten the moment of 55 Nm. After lowering the car on wheels, perform all other work. Silentblock T4 . Front suspension Volkswagen T4 .
