Replacing the rear brake pads
Transporter T4 handbrake cable from the caliper .
♦ Remove the two caliper fixing screws (23) while holding onto the guides (24).
♦ Remove the caliper and hang it on a wire from the axle beam so as not to damage the brake hose.
♦ Remove the brake pads.
Installation
♦ Sink the caliper piston. You can use the special tool VW-3272 (see Fig. 448).

♦ Insert two new brake pads.
♦ Install the brake caliper and fasten it to the brake plate with new bolts (23) to a torque of 35 Nm while holding the guide pins.
♦ Connect the handbrake cable to the caliper housing.
♦ Adjust the hand brake actuator as described below.
